Hanover Township to hold property tax savings seminar
Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin and Supervisor Brian P. McGuire will host a tax saving exemptions seminar at 6 p.m. Monday, April 14 at the Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.
The Cook County Assessor’s Office will present on the basics of the property tax system and the different types of property tax exemptions available. Residents can learn how to check which exemptions were applied to their property and find out which exemptions automatically renew.
A question-and-answer session will also follow the presentation. Registration is not required.
“We often receive many inquiries about exemptions, whether it be the Homeowner, Senior Freeze or Veterans with Disabilities Exemptions, the process can be confusing and complex,” said Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin. “With this seminar, residents can learn how to properly complete applications, identify local resources for assistance, and ask questions.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their recent tax bill to the seminar.
The seminar is cosponsored by Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison, State Sen. Cristina Castro, State Sen. Karina Villa, State Rep. Anna Moeller, State Rep. Maura Hirschauer and State Rep. Fred Crespo.
