Is there a surprise here?

RE: “Deadly blow?” in the Suburban Business section March 6:

Guy Spinelli is in the paper-straw business. He voted for Donald Trump in each of the last three elections. Trump dislikes paper straws, having railed against them from at least 2020. Trump hates anything Biden, which by itself implies he certainly would reverse Biden’s efforts in summer 2024 to reduce single-use plastics, like plastic straws. Why is Mr. Spinelli surprised that he might now lose his business? What is it about Trump and paper straws that Mr. Spinelli did not understand? Isn’t Mr. Spinelli getting exactly what he voted for?
