Seigle Foundation pays tribute to Hamilton Wings founder Risé Jones

With the sudden passing of Risé Jones, founder of Hamilton Wings, Seigle Foundation renewed their funding at the previous year’s amount without a formal grant submission.

Hamilton Wings works to promote leadership development and academic readiness of socially and/or economically challenged children through the use of and access to the arts.

Interim executive director Deanna Cates stated, “Hamilton Wings is deeply grateful for the support of the Seigle Foundation as we continue to ‘give children the wings to soar’! It is our privilege to honor our beloved and recently departed founder, Dr. Risé Jones, as we continue to provide her original, award-winning after-school arts education and integration programs for the wonderful students and families of U-46.”

Arts grants totaling in excess of $200,000 were awarded to the following charitable organizations: Hamilton Wings, Children’s Theatre of Elgin, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Side Street Studio Arts, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Master Chorale, YWCA Elgin and Chamber Music on the Fox.

The foundation believes that communities and people flourish when a strong arts and culture sector serves to unify, entertain, and enlighten.

In addition to the arts, Seigle Foundation is focused on food, education, and housing.

Nonprofit organizations serving the Elgin and Dundee communities are eligible to apply. For more information see SeigleFoundation.org.
