Des Plaines residents can fill out survey on housing, services needs
Des Plaines residents, business owners and community group representatives can share their opinions on local housing and services needs in an online survey.
Des Plaines annually receives Community Development Block Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help low- and moderate-income households perform eligible home improvement projects.
Grants also have been awarded to public service programs and improvements to public facilities and infrastructure, officials said.
The 11-question survey will help shape how the city allocates that funding over the next five years, officials explained.
The survey, which can be completed anonymously, is at desplainesil.gov/cdbgsurvey. The deadline is April 15.
The survey is readily available in English, but can be completed in other languages on request. Additionally, paper copies are available on the third floor of Des Plaines city hall, 1420 Miner St.
If you need assistance completing the survey, or have any questions about it, call (847) 391-5306.
