Palatine offering sidewalk replacement program

The Palatine Public Works Department is offering a 50/50 Sidewalk Replacement Program to allow homeowners to replace uneven, severely cracked or deteriorated sidewalks ahead of the department’s usual schedule.

Sidewalk concerns should be reported to the department as soon as they are noticed. Staff will conduct an inspection, protect the area if necessary and grind or patch the sidewalk with asphalt to eliminate any hazards.

For a replacement, the homeowner’s cost is approximately $95 for a typical sidewalk square. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and the deadline for submission is June 1.
