DOGE actions must be reined in
I have been reflecting on the DOGE team. I struggle to understand their qualifications since they have never worked in public service. I also struggle how we are allowing them to fire employees without notice or severance? There would be a major outcry if a private firm acted that way.
It is also beyond insulting that DOGE is requiring employees to detail their five accomplishments for the week or get potentially fired. Who is going to review these submittals and determine if they are acceptable? Will it be the DOGE team who know nothing about the requirements of the position? Is the DOGE team and Mr. Musk going to do the same for themselves and submit to the American Public so it can be determined if they should still be employed?
One question on tariffs: Did we learn nothing from the Smoot-Hawley Act? How did that go?
One question about negotiating with Mr. Putin: Did we learn nothing from Neville Chamberlain’s negotiations with Hitler? How did that go?
It is time to reign in this craziness and think about our actions and the effect on ALL people.
