$65,000 in cryptocurrency stolen from Des Plaines man’s account, police say

Someone stole $65,000 in cryptocurrency out of a Des Plaines resident’s account Sunday morning, police said in a news release.

The theft was discovered about 7:30 a.m. when the victim received a notification of a withdrawal he didn’t authorize from a Coinbase account . The victim was unable to stop the transaction, police said.

No other details were available.
