Antique Apple Tree Grafting Seminar: 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at Garfield Farm Museum, Campton Hills, 5 miles west of Geneva off Route 38 on Garfield Road. Apple tree expert Dan Bussey will teach you how to grow your own antique apple trees. Bussey has written a 3,500-page, seven-volume book on the thousands of varieties known to have existed in the U.S. Participants will take home three grafts of heirloom varieties to plant in the spring. $40; reservations required. African Violets are popular houseplants because they are so easy to grow and are always in bloom. Learn everything you need to know to successfully grow and maintain them with this interactive presentation. Presentation begins after a short business meeting. Nonmembers welcome.
