Grant/scholarship opportunity for education majors

It’s time to start thinking about applying for the DKG ILSO Gamma Gamma Chapter’s annual grant/scholarship program.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is dedicated to promoting the personal and professional growth of women educators, advocating for excellence in education, and working to advance the status of women in the field by providing opportunities for leadership development and supporting educational initiatives globally.

The DKG ILSO Gamma Gamma Chapter is offering two nonrenewable $2,000 grant/scholarship options. Applicants to the Gamma Gamma Recruitment Grant or Nancy J. Harmon Memorial Scholarship should be a 2025 graduating high school female senior who attends a D211 school, and plans on majoring in an education related field at an accredited secondary institution on a full-time basis. Applications can be found on the chapter’s website at: gammagamma75.org. The deadline for electronically filing the application is April 5.

Applicants will be judged based on merit, academic achievement and financial need.

Opportunities for additional monetary support in the form of book stipends will be available during the recipients’ sophomore, junior, and senior college years as long as the recipients continue to pursue an education related major.

The grant/scholarship also brings with it mentorship by a Gamma Gamma chapter member, and the camaraderie and support of Gamma Gamma’s community of future and young educators.

Interested applicants should visit the DKG ILSO Gamma Gamma Chapter website at gammagamma75.org for further information. (Go to “Scholarships” on the menu, and then the “...Application for Graduating H.S. Seniors” tab.)
