Applications for Vernon Township Social Service Agency Grants are open
Vernon Township is now accepting grant applications from local nonprofit organizations that serve Township residents. These grants are offered separately from the Vernon Township Community Mental Health Board and are intended for services not covered under the mental health umbrella. Applications must be received by Friday, Feb. 28, to be considered.
Some agencies that have received grants in the past include: GiveNKind, which supports local nonprofits including the Food Pantry, while protecting the environment; Mothers Trust Foundation, which provides immediate assistance during times of crisis to low-income children living in Lake County; KAN-WIN, which works to eradicate gender-based violence through survivor-centered services and education; and Faith in Action, which provides senior transportation.
“We are proud to continue supporting the incredible nonprofit organizations that provide an array of services to our residents,” Vernon Township Supervisor Tim Kobler said. “Through these grants, we aim to strengthen community resources and ensure that programs that serve our residents remain accessible to those who need them most.”
To qualify, agencies must:
• Be an incorporated nonprofit with proof of at least one year of not-for-profit status.
• Provide services that align with those the township might otherwise offer.
• Ensure services are available to all Vernon Township residents.
• Maintain a record of referrals from the township and responses to those referrals.
• Be open to site visits from township board members.
Grants will be awarded in April of this year.
This grant initiative reflects Vernon Township’s ongoing commitment to supporting services within the community. Nonprofits that provide services not related to mental health are encouraged to apply by the Feb. 28 deadline. For more details or to apply, visit vernontownship.com.
