Hooters employees volunteer at an elementary school with ChiGivesBack

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, several HMC Hospitality Group managers, corporate members and Hooters Girls spent the day painting the hallways at John J. Pershing STEAM Magnet Elementary School. Each year, ChiGivesBack organizes an MLK Jr. Day of Service to support a local Chicago school. This year’s volunteers from HMC Hospitality Group included Chief Operating Officer Steve Clement, Director of Operations Andrea Hill, Director of Operations Lisa Allen, Regional Training Coordinator Michele Rodarte, Assistant Manager Eariel Jeffers, Marketing Manager Stephanie Martinez, Abigail Cruz of the Downers Grove Hooters, and Hailey Denton and Shannon Bankston of Hooters on Wells Street. In addition, the Chicagoland Hooters locations donated lunch for all ChiGivesBack volunteers at the school.

“I had such a fulfilling time volunteering with Hooters to support ChiGivesBack’s annual MLK Jr. Day of Service,” said Abigail Cruz who works at Hooters of Downers Grove. “Many schools in Chicago lack the financial resources for renovations and repairs, so it was incredibly fulfilling to spend the day helping beautify a school. It was great to see how our efforts could make a real difference, and it was so inspiring to work alongside a group of people who were all committed to making the community better.”
