Chicago man accused of selling cocaine in Naperville

A Chicago man is facing felony drug and weapon charges after a two-month-long investigation by Naperville police, officials said.

Deonte Bell, 23, of the 3800 block of Grenshaw Street in Chicago, has been charged with one count of armed violence, and two counts of counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Members of the Naperville Police Department’s Special Operations Group arrested Bell on the three felony counts after he sold cocaine twice in Naperville, according to a police department news release. At the time of his arrest, authorities said, he had more than one but less than 15 grams of cocaine as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Bell was taken to the DuPage County jail.
