Friend-Fest offers family fun at Elgin Vineyard
For kids who like fun, food, and playing games, Vineyard Church of Elgin is hosting Friend-Fest 2025 on Saturday, Jan. 18. Families with kids through fifth grade can enjoy the free activities and food.
“Friend-Fest is a wonderful event for the community that is fun and safe for kids," said Molly Ackerman, director of worship and children's ministry at Elgin Vineyard. "When everything’s expensive and life seems stressful, Friend-Fest offers a place where parents can set worries aside and enjoy time laughing and playing carnival-like games with their kids.
"We'll have lots of games for everyone, and also free hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks," Ackerman said. "Families won't want to miss this opportunity!”
All the fun takes place downstairs in the community room, and a "Calm Room" with quiet activities will also be provided for kids who appreciate a more peaceful setting.
Friend-Fest will be open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, 220 Division St. in downtown Elgin.
This Sunday morning, Pastor Tom Severson will continue his new sermon series, “Covenant.” The service begins at 10 a.m. Arrive early as 9:30 a.m. to enjoy free coffee or tea from a wide selection at the coffee bar downstairs.
