Contact lawmakers on end-of-life bill
I would like to thank Kevin Banet (letter to the editor Dec. 25) for suggesting that Daily Herald readers reach out to our state senators regarding Senate Bill 3499, End of Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act.
The bill was introduced by Sen. Linda Holmes on Feb. 9, 2024, and can be viewed at http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/103/SB/10300SB3499.
The Bill would allow a terminally ill person with less than six months to live, end their life in a compassionate and humane manner under medical supervision.
For the first time in my 64 years, I have reached out to every state representative and senator as I am in full support of this legislation.
