Aurora church displays 40 nativities from around the world
New England Congregational Church in Aurora celebrated the season with a display of 40 nativity sets from around the world on Sunday, Dec. 15.
The sets were loaned by Loyola University Museum of Art in Chicago from its “Art and Faith of the Creche” exhibition through Dec. 21.

Students of the Beloved Community, a New England social and racial justice community, sponsored the local display.
Committee member Maureen McKane said scenes came from artists in Africa, South America, Middle East and Pacific islands.

The event Sunday included a live concert by pianist Jose Valdes and drummer Jimmy Rodriguez who performed African and South American music in the sanctuary.
A cookie reception concluded the event.
