Enjoy traditional carols and jazzy updates at Illinois Brass Band’s ‘Holiday Classics’ concerts

Come celebrate Christmas and the sounds of the season with music director Stephen Squires and the Illinois Brass Band as they present "Holiday Classics" Dec. 21-22.

The concerts will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in St. Charles; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave. in Arlington Heights.

The program will feature music of the season with a cheerful mix of traditional carols, holiday fanfares, holiday classics, and jazzy updates of Christmas favorites. It will be an afternoon that will put the entire family in the holiday spirit. Amy Bearden will be the featured vocal soloist.

Following tradition, they will close the performance with the traditional sing-along medley of Christmas carols led by the guest vocalist.

The Illinois Brass Band is a six-time national champion of the North American Brass Band Association. The band is in its 32nd year of performing and is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

Tickets are $15; $5 for youth, age 18 or younger; or $35 for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children. Tickets are available at illinoisbrassband.org/performances.html or at the door on the day of the performance.
