Justice not the issue in chokehold case
Please stop with the “justice served” nonsense. Daniel Penny should never have been charged, but he was white and the “victim” was black, and that’s all that mattered to Alvin Bragg.
In a June 13, 2023, subway stabbing (resulting in a death) Jordan Williams, a 20-year-old Black man, was arrested but never charged. The circumstances in the two cases are remarkably similar.
The difference? Penny was white. Williams wasn’t. Penny attempted to “restrain” the threat. Williams fatally stabbed his threat.
The difference? Penny is white, Williams is black.
I am thankful that Daniel Penny is now a “free” man, but I fear for his well-being. “Justice” had little to do with this case.
