Wheeling man charged with aggravated domestic battery, kidnapping

A 39-year-old Wheeling man faces kidnapping and aggravated domestic battery charges after authorities said he seriously injured a person he was dating.

Palatine police on Wednesday arrested Boris Zhuravlev, of the 1400 block of Sandpebble Drive, in connection with an alleged attack Sunday morning in the 1200 block of Prairie Brook Drive in Palatine.

He faces four felony charges in all: kidnapping, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery with prior convictions, and unlawful restraint.

Zhuravlev appeared in court for a detention hearing Thursday and was ordered to remain in custody until his next scheduled court date on Jan. 10.

The Palatine Police Department urges anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek assistance from local authorities or support organizations.
