“It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry is an adaptation of the classic film presented as a live radio broadcast in the 1940s. The story follows George Bailey, a man who has spent his life sacrificing his dreams for the good of his community in Bedford Falls. As he faces a financial crisis on Christmas Eve, George contemplates whether the world would be better off if he was never born.
In a twist of fate, his guardian angel, Clarence, intervenes, showing him how much he means to the people around him and how different life would be without him. The play features a small cast of actors portraying multiple characters and incorporates live sound effects, capturing the spirit of the original film while emphasizing themes of hope, community, and the value of every individual life. The production blends humor and heartfelt moments, celebrating the impact one person can have on others.
