Des Plaines to light Christmas tree Friday

Join Des Plaines officials and residents for the city’s annual tree lighting Friday at Metropolitan Square in the downtown area.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and will include live entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus. The tree lighting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Food trucks will be on site, too.
