Brighten up your holidays with Naper Lights
Get into the festive spirit with beautiful light displays along Water Street and the south side of the Riverwalk in Naperville.
Presented by the Naperville Sunrise Rotary, Naper Lights can be seen starting Thanksgiving weekend through New Year’s Eve from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Visitors can access the display from the Webster Street covered bridge, Main Street and Webster Street. Lights on the Water Street trees and the Foyo Plaza will be synced to music, creating a unique experience.
“Come with your family and friends, have dinner downtown and stroll through the lights, listen to music and enjoy,” said Geoff Roehll, Chairman of the Naperville Sunrise Rotary. “My favorite spot is on the Riverwalk, opposite the river looking back at Water Street with the singing trees and animated lights on the railings all synced to the music.”
The more than 250,000 lights in the displays illuminate a variety of holiday figures, including skating polar bears, skaters, snowmen, carolers, gifts and baubles. Special activities planned include an appearance by Santa from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 6, 8 and 13, with live carolers at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 15.
Roehll said the display also offers families numerous photo opportunities.
“By the large 40-foot Christmas tree is an illuminated Santa chair that is great for family photos,” he said. “Also, near the tree is a 7-foot tall giant teddy bear that’s a great photo opportunity as well.”
New this year are three illuminated penguins, also ideal for photos, Roehll said.
Among the sponsors of Naper Lights is the Gerald Auto Group. A founding sponsor, Gerald will display multiple vehicles on site, Roehll said.
“Naper Lights would not exist without support from sponsors,” Roehll said. “These wonderful sponsors allow us to grow each year.”
The Gerald Auto Group is honored to contribute to such a beloved holiday tradition.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of Naper Lights,” said Donna Lawler of the Gerald Auto Group. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the joy of the holiday season and create lasting memories as families come together.”
