Elgin police investigating man’s death after fight

Elgin police are investigating a man’s death they discovered after responding to a fight at a home Wednesday night. A news release on Facebook said the death happened around 11:12 p.m. on the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue. The people involved knew each other. Police did not identify the victim.
According to police, there is no threat to the community, however, officials declined to say whether anyone is in custody.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office is doing an autopsy.
