Plainfield Saints qualify two squads for national championship after regional wins
Plainfield Saints Youth Association recently announced that two of its cheerleading squads have qualified for the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championships after a phenomenal performance at the Mid-America Pop Warner Regional Championships this past weekend. Competing against top teams in the region, our athletes emerged victorious, securing regional champion titles, and achieving a place at nationals in Orlando, Florida this December.
In the PeeWee Level 2 Medium Division, our team earned the prestigious title of Regional Champions in the Show Cheer Category, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork. They are coached by Lindsay DeLuca and Ashley Wilson.
Additionally, the Junior Varsity Level 2 Large Division squad captured multiple titles, including regional champions in the Show Cheer category and regional champions in the Sideline category. The Junior Varsity team also claimed the title of grand champions, achieving the highest score of all Sideline routines — a remarkable achievement that showcases their dedication and passion for the sport.
The Junior Varsity team is coached by Alyssa Gravelle, Paige Carter, Kristin Judd, Lauren Matuszewski, and Holley White.
"Qualifying two teams for nationals is an incredible milestone for our organization," said Alyssa Gravelle, vice president of cheer. "These athletes have put their hearts into every practice and performance, and their hard work truly paid off at regionals. We’re excited to see them represent our community on the national stage."
The Plainfield Saints Youth Association is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering confidence, discipline, and resilience in youth athletes. With the support of coaches, parents, and community members, these young cheerleaders develop valuable life skills while excelling in the sport they love.
To support our athletes on their journey to nationals, the Plainfield Saints Youth Association is organizing a variety of fundraising initiatives, including an upcoming Bingo night and Thanksgiving Day Football Squares. We invite our community to join us in helping these dedicated athletes reach their goal and showcase their talent at the national level, with business, community partner, or family sponsorships.
