Free smoke alarm installation in Arlington Heights
The Arlington Heights Fire Department is installing free smoke alarms for residents this week while supplies last.
The Smoke Alarm Blitz! campaign, through Oct. 26, is a partnership with Camp “I Am Me” of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Illinois Community Risk Reduction Coalition Task Force.
Residents can sign up at vah.com/smokealarm or call (847) 368-5450 to have a firefighter stop by and install a 10-year sealed, never-replace-battery alarm.
The department installed 500 smoke alarms at homes last year.
