How should the state respond to the influx of migrants bussed here from Southern states?

Our federal government is required to protect our national security and protect our borders. Our state needs to pressure the federal government to do their job. Illegal migrants take jobs away from the citizens of Illinois, burden our education system, and burden our health care system. I would encourage legal immigration, and prioritize our own citizens.

Are you satisfied with the state's existing ethics policies for senators and representatives? If so, what about the policies should reassure Illinoisans that elected leaders abide by high standards? If not, what changes need to be made?

Unfortunately, Illinois is known for having corruption with our elected officials. One way to minimize corruption is to have term limits for these offices. I believe term limits are necessary.

Currently senators and representatives need to wait 1 year after they leave office to become a lobbyist; I think that is too short of a time period and there should be several years before a they could take a position as a lobbyist.

Would you support a requirement that election petitions include a line asking candidates for their campaign email address?

No preferences

How well do you think criminal justice reforms made in recent years are working? What, if any, changes need to be made?

The recent reforms with the SAFE-T Act made many good reforms, however I believe it needs some changes.

The act was passed by lawmakers without sufficient input from law enforcement, and fails to take into account how it affects the ability of the police in their day to day policing. We should not make it so difficult on them that they are unable to safely protect the public, and we need their input to improve this act.

We now have an assault weapons ban in Illinois. What if any changes should be made to the law? What more can be done to improve gun safety?

To improve gun safety we need to stop the illegal gun trafficking and strengthen the penalties for illegal gun sales, this will reduce the number of illegal weapons in circulation.

Illinois is the only state in the nation that mandates regular behind-the-wheel tests for senior drivers. Do you support any changes?

I do not support changes at this time since public safety is a priority of mine, and evaluating senior drivers helps protect all road users.

What personal qualifications do you bring that would make you an effective legislator?

I was led by God to run for this office and I want to be obedient to Him. I have a heart for the people of this area and understand that changes are needed in Illinois. I am not a politician, but have worked, lived, and raised my children in this state. Illinois does not need more politicians, but needs people who have the fear of the Lord in them and will do what is best for Illinois.
