Artists Series presents the Guttenberg German Band at Sew Hop’d Brewery

As part of its celebration of Lutheran Heritage Month, the Artist Series at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley invites the community to get into the spirit of Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Join an evening of fellowship and enjoy authentic music of the renowned Guttenberg German Band from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Sew Hop’d Brewery, 1 Union Special Plaza in Huntley.

There is no cost to attend the concert of the Guttenberg German Band at Sew Hop’d Brewery. Beverages will be available for purchase.

“The Guttenberg German Band is excited to be playing in Huntley,” says band member Dennis Rodenberg. “As part of our commitment to spread some good cheer and ‘Gemütlichkeit,’ we have been entertaining crowds throughout the Midwest and even in Europe on two tours. We are a group of musicians from many walks of life with a focus on playing traditional polkas, waltzes, marches, and a few other audience favorites. We love most seeing the interactions of the crowds. Sometimes it’s a spirited dance, other times raising a stein or glass in a toast, or just a simple tapping of the toes that makes a gig worth it. The band can’t wait to bring our own style of fun! Prost!”

Shepherd of the Prairie Senior Pastor Mark Boster adds, “We are so pleased to be able to offer this fun opportunity for the community to come together and Sew Hop’d is one of those places in Huntley where this is already happening. We are pleased to work with our friends at Sew Hop’d to offer this free community event.”

The Artist Series at Shepherd of the Prairie is proud to present the Guttenberg German Band, which represents the small town of Guttenberg, Iowa, population 1,800, at all times of the year.

With the beautiful scenery of Guttenberg — situated alongside the Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 10 — the band takes inspiration from the bluffs and rivers that many of their ancestors would have been familiar with in the rivers and valleys of Germany and other parts of Europe.
