Endorsement: Katz Muhl in Illinois House District 57
Voters in Illinois House District 57 will choose between incumbent Democrat Tracy Katz Muhl of Northbrook and Republican challenger Daniel Behr of Northbrook.
Katz Muhl, an attorney and Democratic committee representative who also served as Northbrook School District 28 board president, was appointed in January to the seat after Jonathan Carroll resigned.
Katz Muhl made the most of her time in office, getting legislation passed on reproductive health care, auto insurance, fair housing, mental health and government consolidation
Behr fought to get on the ballot, joining a successful challenge in court to a state law that would have forbidden parties from slating candidates after primaries even in the current campaign. Behr has a background in transportation and says he would work with both sides of the aisle to get solutions to those issues.
We’re very impressed with Katz Muhl’s knowledge of the issues and her years of service in the district. Her experience serving on a school board gives the ability to look at issues at the local level in addition to the state level.
Katz Muhl deserves a full term in office and is endorsed.
House District 57 includes parts of Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Glencoe, Glenview, Lincolnshire, Northbrook, Northfield, Prospect Heights, Riverwoods, Wheeling and Wilmette.
