Mrs. Roper Romp returns to Villa Park Oct. 12

The second annual Mrs. Roper Romp will take place throughout Villa Park on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Mrs. Roper Romp has become a nationwide sensation, and Villa Park was an early adopter last year. Women (and men) show up dressed in caftans and curly wigs, copying the flamboyant style of Helen Roper, “Three’s Company“ landlady.

Participants will visit four local establishments: Stulgin’s Park Blvd. Tavern, 5 E. Villa Park Blvd. at 6 p.m.; Ardmore Lounge, 340 Ardmore Ave. at 7 p.m.; More Brewing, 126 S. Villa Ave. at 8:15 p.m.; and DeVine Wine and Cocktail Bar, 339 E. Kenilworth Ave. at 9:15 p.m.

Each location is excited to welcome the group! The Old Globe at 338 Ardmore Ave. is also giving discounts that day to anyone dressed in Three’s Company costumes.

This year, organizers have decided to use the event as an opportunity to help women affected by breast cancer. There are many in the community who need support.

A QR code will be available at the event to donate directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation which addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease.

We hope to meet lots of new Helens (and Stanleys!).
