Hilltop Community Supper marks its ninth year with Oct. 8 dinner
The Hilltop Community Suppers at First Congregational Church of Dundee is celebrating its ninth year this month. It’s open to any community member who would enjoy a warm, cooked dinner.
The free supper is offered on Tuesday, Oct. 8, as a “drive-through” and “to-go” from 5 to 6 p.m., or as long as the meals last, via the parking lot driveway of the church, 900 S. Eighth St. in West Dundee. There will be no dining in the church building.
The October menu will feature Pat’s chicken legs and thighs, a broccoli-cauliflower salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, a Texas Roadhouse dinner roll with butter, and a birthday cookie.
The supper will be run by Hilltop Community Suppers volunteers who will assemble and distribute the meal. Three hundred dinners were served in September.
Social distancing practices will be observed as they continue to take all precautions to ensure a safe experience for all participants and guests. Dinners are offered at no cost, but freewill donations are gladly accepted to help sustain the meals and any additional contributions are accepted at any time. Come join this “drive-through” gathering of community members. For details, call (847) 426-2161, ext. 202, or visit www.fccdundee.com.
