Politicians and personal health decisions

I’m troubled by the extreme political affiliations of a candidate running to represent me in the Illinois House of Representatives. I recently saw that Illinois GOP Chair Kathy Salvi was hosting an event at her home to support Tosi Ufodike.

It’s unsettling to learn what GOP politicians supporting the candidacy of Tosi Ufodike for the 51st District favor. In the past, Salvi has come out in favor of a total abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest or the life of the mother. She claims these instances are “hypotheticals,” even when women in other states have been criminally charged for having a miscarriage.

As others have said: “Can’t these people just mind their own business?” Decisions about my body and my health care must not be subject to the political whims of Ufodike or her party bosses.
