The Batavia United Way is taking registration for its 11th annual Bat Race 5K/10K on Saturday, Oct. 26. They are expecting over 700 runners from all over the Chicago area to be lacing up their running shoes to join in the spooky fun!

Packet pick-up will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 23-24, at Pal Joey's, 31 N. River St. in Batavia. Stay for dinner and show your bib to get 10% off your food bill from Wednesday through Saturday! Packets can also be picked up on the morning of the race starting at 7 a.m. at Pal Joey's.
Race day brings all sorts of fun. What's a Halloween-themed race without costumes? The Batavia United Way is encouraging costumes. They will be awarding prizes in various categories (e.g., best group costume, best duo costume, best adult male costume, best adult female costume, and best child costume) for those who want to participate in the costume contest. You can register at the information booth the morning of the race to be eligible for prizes.
Drinks at the Bloody Mary bar at Pal Joey's, cider donuts, breakfast burritos, and more will be available for purchase.
Without supporters and fundraisers, the Batavia United Way would not be able to provide assistance to over 19 local agencies or run the in-house programs such as our Success-by-6 preschool scholarships, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Adopt-A-Family holiday program and more.
