One hurt in Buffalo Grove house fire that displaced family

One person was hurt and a Buffalo Grove family of three was displaced after a fire gutted their home Thursday evening.

Fire officials said the injured resident was transported to a hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The fire was reported just after 7:15 p.m. at a two-story, single-family house on the 900 block of Lucinda Drive.

The fire was under control within 15 minutes, but there was significant damage to the upper floor. Firefighters remained on scene for nearly five hours checking for hot spots and performing overhaul operations.

Damage from the blaze was estimated at $360,000. The cause remains under investigation.
