FamilyForward to host Oct. 20 Giving Hope event to support low-income families

On Sunday, Oct. 20, Arlington Heights based FamilyForward will host its annual premier fundraising event, Giving Hope. This year’s theme, Giving Hope: There’s No Place Like a Home, has a fun “Wizard of Oz” connection in anticipation of the upcoming film release of “Wicked.”

Attendees will gather from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cotillion Banquets, 360 S. Creekside Drive, Palatine, for an afternoon of fundraising and fun — including a gourmet brunch buffet (don’t miss the Donut Wall and your complimentary mimosa), cash bar and entertainment. Giving Hope: There’s No Place Like a Home will be a festive time to gather with friends while celebrating and supporting FamilyForward’s work to equip and empower low-income, working families across the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Registration for Giving Hope: There’s No Place Like a Home is $85 per person. In addition to the delicious brunch (with vegetarian options), participants will enjoy a variety of fun and inspirational activities including a silent auction and raffles, enchanting music and a live appeal to raise funds for families. Attire for this event is business casual, and guests are invited to wear “Wizard of Oz” inspired outfits and accessories to add to the festive atmosphere.

One program highlight will be the opportunity to hear from a family whose lives were changed by participating in the two-year intensive, targeted program at FamilyForward. This year’s goal is to raise at least $50,000 to help client families as they continue to grapple with the ever-rising costs of rental housing and other inflationary expenses, all the while working to provide a safe and secure environment for their children.

Visit family-forward.org/giving-hope to learn more and register by Oct. 11.

Sponsorships and donations of silent-auction and raffle items are also welcome, through Sept. 27. Contact Erica Chianelli, at (847) 342-0846 or erica.chianelli@family-forward.org, with questions.

FamilyForward is grateful for the support and partnership of the community in its mission to strengthen local families along their path toward financial stability.
