Open house at Des Plaines fire station Saturday

The Des Plaines Fire Department will hold an open house Saturday.

The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Station No. 63, 130 E. Thacker St.

Attendees can check out fire trucks, meet firefighters and learn safety tips. Demonstrations, car seat safety checks and other activities are planned.
