Police: Bartlett residents stole mail from mailboxes
Two Bartlett residents were arrested in the village Sunday night and accused of theft of mail.
Stephen Gatto, 20, and Renee Kronenthal, 20, were each charged with a Class A misdemeanor for theft under $500.
At 9:30 p.m. that evening, Bartlett police responded to the 100 block of Wallace Street for a call of people looking into mailboxes there.
The officers reportedly located Gatto and Kronenthal standing near a mailbox. Following an investigation, police said the two were in possession of mail they had removed from various mailboxes and took them into custody without incident.
Gatto and Kronenthal were pretrial released. Their next court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 8 at the DuPage County court facility in Wheaton.
