Nation denies God at our peril

Today’s Catholic mass readings include this passage from Psalm 33: “Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance.” This brings me to thoughts about America and how it was founded by religious people fleeing persecution. They all, at least, acknowledged that God existed. They made the Ten Commandments the basis of our laws. The Judeo-Christian values permeated every aspect of daily life and government. This is why America is so blessed with innovation and prosperity.

Lately, there are those that want to remove God from all public life. But I say, take away God and you invite His condemnation. In the Bible, whenever the Jews turned away from God, they were conquered by their enemies and made slaves. Will that happen to America?

What other disasters await us if we continue to deny God? We must repent and turn toward God to save our nation. God, heaven and hell are real. Just ask the people with near death experiences. Stop denying God or He will deny us.
