Right goal, wrong woman
One of the arguments proposed as to which candidate to vote for in the coming election is that it’s time for a woman to lead our country. It brings to mind some of the most successful and well known foreign female heads of state such as Golda Meir in Israel, Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain and Angela Merkel of Germany.
Each were well-qualified, resolute in their convictions and qualified in every aspect of their responsibilities to lead their country. Our country is blessed with women with highly successful careers in business as well as other important aspects of our society. Their leadership abilities would be highly regarded were they to seek any political office.
Kamala Harris is not one of them. She shared in the failure of the Biden administration during their nearly four-year tenure to do anything about the more than 20% growth in inflation that hurt lower income families the most and ignored the invasion of millions of illegal immigrants bringing with them more drugs and more crime and saddling our society with the cost of their care. Do you believe she would close the border permanently?
Has she changed her “defund the police” to become a full fledged law and order advocate? Does she no longer believe in increasing government control of our lives and the inherent spending that would increase our debt beyond sustainable limits. Attacking price gougers to reduce inflation has been tried before (Nixon). It didn’t work for many reasons.
Has a far-left liberal become a moderate? Or, can it be that what we hear is election rhetoric? She recently stated that she has not changed her values. Does that mean that she’s still the liberal she always was and knows that her former policies won’t get her elected?
