Geneva firefighters to use parking deck for rappelling training

Geneva firefighters will participate in rappelling training over several days this month.

The training will happen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Third Street Commuter Parking Deck in the city’s downtown.

The Geneva Fire Department is conducting the training to maintain rappelling certifications, officials announced in a news release.

Officials said the parking deck will remain open to commuters and downtown patrons during the training sessions.
