Huntley church to host bingo fundraiser for Artist Series

On Saturday, Sept. 14, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley will host a fundraising bingo event to support the Artist Series, the church’s outreach ministry. It will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, 10805 Main St.

Tickets per person for the cash-only event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets sales to the general public are available on Fridays, Sept. 6 and 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the church; and before and after the 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday church services.

Tickets include 10 games and additional cards will be for sale at the event. Guests will play for cash prizes with a grand prize of $500.

The Artist Series began its first season in 2019 and has thrived since its launch. All of the events are free-will offering.

Over the past five years, guests have enjoyed a wide variety of worldwide renowned musical artists and entertainment. This year’s Artist Series began with the Wayne Messmer Quartet in April. The next scheduled program is “Merry Christmas Darling” with Heidi Kettenring on Dec. 8, 2024.

“The public is invited to join us for a fun evening at our fundraising event,” said Jane McMullen, the church’s traditional music and worship director. “The mission of our Artist Series is to provide a platform where gifted artists can share their God-given talents. We are blessed to have the support of family, friends, community donors and our audience members, who have generously been at our side to continue our steadfast commitment to community outreach.”
