Two in GOP who saved America

Can we take a second to give thanks to the two Republican Vice Presidents who saved our republic? Mike Pence, our vice president on Jan. 6, 2021, after being faced down by a mob of America’s worst, used what little power that office has to defy Donald Trump, who sicced that mob from just one mile away. If that mob had gotten their way, the vice president would have been lynched and your MAGA-gulled family member — who I’m sure is otherwise very lovely — knows this in their heart to be true.

Mike Pence defied Donald Trump and delivered the people’s verdict on a sad and failed president, delivered us from what I know is hyperbole but what I feel is true and despicable evil, but he wasn’t always so sure. Mike Pence reportedly asked for advice from fellow Hoosier Vice President Dan Quayle about whether or not to follow his marching orders and Dan Quayle, of all people, of all vice presidents showed more grace, more integrity and more respect for our Constitution than the former president has showed in his entire life and urged Mike Pence to certify the results we voted for. These are real Republicans, who owe their allegiance to our country and to our Constitution, not to some weirdo with no respect for either.
