Thieves targeted bank customers, Des Plaines police say

Two men were facing charges Friday following auto burglaries in Des Plaines and Arlington Heights, authorities said.

The thieves targeted customers at banks and stole cash from their cars, Des Plaines police said in a news release.

Andres F. Parra-Bohorquez, 31, of the 6200 block of North Oakley Avenue in Chicago, is charged with two counts of burglary. Michael S. Castiblanco-Quiroga, a 32-year-old homeless man, is charged with burglary and possession of fraudulent identification.

Castiblanco-Quiroga also was wanted on a warrant in California for violating parole.

The men were arrested Wednesday following a police investigation that began with a theft earlier in the month, according to the news release. Police said they spotted the men team up Wednesday to steal a case containing approximately $25,000 out of a Ford Explorer in Arlington Heights.
