Visit Buddha’s Words Monastery with Holy Trinity Sept. 14
On Saturday, Sept. 14, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin will hosting a visit to the Buddha’s Words Monastery at 779 Dixon Ave. in Elgin.
The temple has five monks. The tour will be led by “Ket” Ketkesy Herena, manager of the Chinese Mutual Aid Association, and Aloun Khotisene, manager of Golden Wings Home Care.
The Chinese Mutual Aid Association, which is located on the third floor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, serves countless needy people in Elgin, including home health care, education, translation, career help, etc.
Participants will be leaving Holy Trinity Church, 357 Division St., at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join the visit by emailing vicar@holytrinityelgin.com.

The church offers a 5 p.m. Saturday service with a shorter liturgy, and 9:30 a.m. traditional worship with full liturgy on Sunday. The Sunday service is livestreamed on the church’s YouTube channel.
