Hoffman Estates Community Pride Award nominations due Friday

The deadline to nominate a property owner for a Hoffman Estates Community Pride Award is Friday, Aug. 30.

The award, given by the village’s Sustainability Commission, honors property owners for beautiful landscaping or their commitment to “green” practices.

Awards are given in the following categories: detached single-family home; attached single-family home; neighborhood or homeowners association. Special recognition will be given for properties that incorporate sustainable landscaping practices, including the use of rain barrels, composting or non-toxic pest/weed control.

Photographs will be taken in early September of areas viewable from the street.
