What’s so bad about the past?
One recurring theme of the Harris/Walz campaign is that they are looking to the future and President Trump will take the country back to the past. Why is that so bad?
I would like to experience the past average inflation rate of 1.2%. I would like to experience past gas prices of $2.50 per gallon. I would like an economy in which average wages increased faster than the rate of inflation.
In Trump’s past, the United States was energy independent and an oil and gas net exporter. In the past, we had record unemployment rates for Hispanic and Black citizens. In the past, we knew who was in charge in Washington. In the past, the United States was not funding both sides of two major wars in the world.
In the past, under Donald Trump, the world was not on the verge of WWIII.
Right now, the past looks pretty god to me.
