Metal debris on I-290 causes multiple flat tires

Illinois State Police officials said three vehicles sustained flat tires after running over metal debris in the southbound lanes of Interstate 290/Route 53 near Arlington Heights Thursday evening.
It’s unknown what caused the debris field that was located between Palatine Road and Northwest Highway, authorities said.
No significant delays were reported and no damage estimates were available.
