Sock hop to feature The New Odyssey Guy Aug. 24 at Elgin church
Remember the old Elgin Storm Cellar and school dances of the 1960s? Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin invites the community to a sock hop on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Enjoy an evening with live music, food, and fellowship - all for a great cause! Even though it says "dance" you can come and listen to the music and visit.
Music of the 1960s and ’70s will come from the New Odyssey Guy, a one-man band.
You will certainly enjoy the special yellow submarine decor.
The dance will begin at 6 p.m. right after the Saturday service at the church, 357 Division St., Elgin. Refreshments will be available.
A free-will offering will be available with proceeds going to Soup Kettle. Food donations are welcome.
