Grayslake woman dies after two-vehicle crash in Gurnee

A 63-year-old Grayslake woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Gurnee Tuesday morning, officials said.

Police said the woman, whom they didn’t identify, was in the southbound lanes of Route 41 waiting to turn left onto Delany Road when, for an unknown reason, she exited the turn lane and drove into the southbound lanes on Route 41, and her Honda sedan was struck by a semi-truck.

The crash pushed the woman’s car into a utility pole. Emergency workers had to extricate her from her vehicle. She was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
