The worst possible presidential scores
OK, let’s go over the totals:
Ethics — Zero. Used funds from his charity for his 2016 campaign. $454M New York fraud judgment.
Morals — Zero. Had affairs with women while he was married. $5M Judgement for Sexual abuse of E Jean Carroll.
Leadership — Zero. Watched J6 riots for 3.5 hrs. before calling off the dogs and then proclaimed his love for them. Handling of Covid-19 was abysmal.
Honesty — Zero. Number of lies and misleading statements has been monumental. Continues to deny results of 2020 election.
Fiscal Responsibility — Zero. His administration will add $8.4 trillion to national debt based on 10 yr. view of laws and policies he has enacted.
Compassion — Zero. He has mocked Third World countries, people with physical handicaps and American war heroes.
Felony Convictions — 34
How can this man be considered presidential material? I challenge readers to come up with another president or challenger with worse overall scores than this guy.

The potential
for voter fraud
Really, only U.S. citizens can vote legally in our according to our U.S. Constitution. What’s fraud: a false representation of a matter of fact, whether by words or conduct, that deceives another and causes legal injury.
But our voter registration system is laughable with no proof of citizenship required and only the question ‘I am a United States citizen’ that only a signature gives a person the right to vote in our elections. ‘In 2022, an estimated 10.9 million unauthorized immigrants were living in the United States. This is an increase from about 3.5 million unauthorized immigrants who lived in the United States in 1990’.
Yes, unlawful entry is considered a felony and signing a voter registration form falsely is a crime. Therefore, any numbers of fraudulent illegal immigrants that commit a second crime by signing the voter registration form is disenfranchising an equal number of qualified citizens and could change the election outcome in a tossup state that impacts a presidential election outcome.
The current House of Representatives passed the SAFE Act preventing noncitizens from voting with the help of some Democrats; but since the Senate, controlled by Democrats, opposes this legislation, it will be shelved to eventually die. A person must be registered to vote in order to cast their ballot and states perform regular voter list maintenance to ensure that their voter lists are up-to-date and accurate, but Democrats and mainstream media labeled this process as voter ‘disenfranchisement’.
Therefore, the illegal immigrants entering through Biden’s borderless policies can potentially be voting in elections and displacing U.S. citizens having the only constitutional right of voting in U.S. elections now and forever.

Resume mowing
Why has Buffalo Grove turned most of the water retention ponds into urban forestry?
I have lived out here for over 48 years. If my neighbors grew weeds on their lawns that are over a foot tall, they would get fined by the village or county. Buffalo Grove has weeds over 4 feet tall that makes the neighborhood look terrible.
Does the village need to save that much money by not mowing the retention ponds? I am embarrassed by the way they look.
When I give directions, I tell people to make a right turn after the weeds from the runoff area. It really looks bad. Please spend the money and bring back the mowed retention ponds. The weeds from the retention ponds are really bad for people with allergies.

A lie from the
‘border czar’
Immigration along with the economy and inflation continue to be major political issues in the 2024 presidential elections. Half a dozen House Democrats on Thursday, July 25, joined their Republican colleagues in passing a resolution that condemns Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, for her failure as “border czar” to secure the U.S. southern border.
President Biden hand-picked Kamala Harris to lead on the issue of immigration back in March 2022. The president personally on March 24, 2021, said “The vice president has agreed to lead our diplomatic effort to work with these nations, to accept returnees and to enhance immigration enforcement at the border.”
In accepting the task, Harris made her role more specific saying: “I look forward to engaging in diplomacy with government, with the private sector and with civil society.”
Harris goes on further to say, “We will collaborate with Mexico and other countries throughout the Western Hemisphere.”
Now fast forward three months to June 2021 when Lester Holt, reporter for NBC News, interviews Harris in Guatemala and asks her perhaps the first pointed and tough question she has received in a long time and catches her in a lie. Holt simply asks her, “Do you have any plans to visit the border?”
This direct question seems to startle the vice president, and she blurts out, “We’ve been to the border and Holt simply replies, “You haven’t been to the border.” Harris then replies, “And I haven’t been to Europe.”
The fact is Holt was correct and the vice president had not been to the southern border three months after President Biden asked her to be the “border czar” where millions of illegal aliens were pouring across the border into the USA.

Definitely not a plot
A letter writer asked, “Was failure a flop or plot?” regarding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Really? If it was a “deep-state plot” then the Secret Service and police deliberately planned and tried to look absurdly, possibly criminally, negligent.
That is more stupid than just being absurdly negligent. They would have selected a good marksman to be the shooter, not some kid with a 99.99% probability of missing a target from 150 yards. The kid fired shots toward Trump. It was pure chance that one actually hit Trump’s ear. That is not at all a realistic “deep state” plot to kill Trump.
Did Trump plan it? Really? Would Trump take even a .01% chance of getting himself killed and a very certain chance of getting supporters killed? I don’t think so. It is far more stupid for the Secret Service and police to have been involved in a plot than it is that the Secret Service and police were genuinely as negligent as they appeared.

Why veterans should
register with VA
As a veteran and volunteer editor of the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission monthly newsletter, I was very interested in seeing Matthew Moeller’s letter about free support for veterans in crisis at any hospital. This article highlights the importance of getting to a safe place for crisis care at the nearest hospital facility and it implies that the treatment will be free for veterans.
The initial, emergency care treatment will, in fact, be free — as it is for everyone (Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act). The implication of the article is that the whole hospital stay will be free — if the veteran meets the veteran qualifications. However, there is a bit of a glitch in this implication. Not only must a veteran meet the service qualifications, but they must also be registered with the Veterans Administration. If they are not registered, it is likely that the bill for service beyond emergency care will be paid out of their own pocket.
For Lake County, the primary veteran facility is the James A. Lovell Federal Health Center in North Chicago. For emergency crisis care call 988. For non-emergency mental health care, contact the Mental Health Clinic at 224-610-3744.
The big implication of this is that every veteran should become registered with the most convenient VA facility whether they want to use the services right away or not. In this way, when there becomes an emergency that does require VA support, they will be visible and “pre-qualified” in the VA system.

Boat-safety hypocrisy
How can officials in Lake and McHenry Counties, not to mention Daily Herald editors and executives, look themselves in the mirror and not see the hypocrisy of their character?
In Tuesday’s Herald, they’re touting the opening of a marijuana dispensary on the shore of Fox Lake where boaters can now buy marijuana from their boat, and in Wednesday’s Herald they reported the memorial naming of a patrol boat in the name of a little boy killed by a drunk boater who also had drugs in his system.
The laws are truly incredible, aren’t they?
I cannot believe the hypocrisy of both McHenry and Lake County officials. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
