Panel probing Christie, bridge lane closure to meet
TRENTON, N.J. - Lawmakers are planning to review the findings of a report probing Gov. Chris Christie's connection to the closure of lanes at the George Washington Bridge.
The special committee is set to meet Monday and to vote on whether to release the interim report, but the panel's work leaked last week.
The report said there was no evidence showing Christie played a role in the scheme to close lanes in 2013 or that he knew about it as it happened.
Supporters of the governor say the report clears him, while his opponents say it shows a lack of curiosity about how his administration is run.
It's not likely to be the final word on the matter. The U.S. attorney also is conducting an investigation.
