The Future of the United States
The Presidential Debate between two senior-aged presidents is a wake-up call. Leaders age and don’t always shine at their best. America needs a sincere discussion on age limits on how old one can be to run for president. If he wins, the former president will be 81 in his last year of the presidency. The current president is 81. Being president is a demanding job. Joe Biden has been greatly challenged without support of both political parties and has lived up to most of his challenges.
This election is not about age. It is about America’s Democracy vs. Dictatorship/Autocracy. It is about which party holds power, control and loss of freedoms.
It is about Global Warning. Our planet is burning, flooding, and drying up. Mother Nature (and, scientists) tells us, we are in trouble. We cannot allow the United States Congress to lead us to extinction. This election is about staying in the Paris Climate Accords.
Besides rumors of tax break for the wealthy, this election is about saving the middle-class. The economy, health care, Medicare, education, insurance costs, and affordable housing costs are out of control.
This election is about keeping countries, like Ukraine, a blossoming democracy, alive. This election is about staying in NATO and finding peace between Israel and the Middle East. It is about keeping commitments to our allies, especially, since North Korea, China and Russia have recently signed reciprocal agreements.
As an American, I never again want to see a group of angry people led to Washington to destroy the Capitol and put the vice president, and senators in harms way. News reports tell us the former president watched the fury and did nothing for hours.
This election is about whom we vote in as leaders and avoiding corruption by power, money, and political party demands. Yes, Joe Biden is 81, but he believes in America. He surrounds himself with sound professional and talented people to complete his agenda. In a troubled world he is moving America forward.
